Development of a scenographic concept translating the uncanny atmosphere of E.T.A. Hoffmann’s stories into spatial experiences through optical illusions and perceptual effects. A programmable RGB lighting system continuously transformed the exhibition environment, revealing different visual layers in graphics printed with three color channels and dynamically altering the perception of the circular space.

A large mirror wall moves and vibrates in response to the room’s soundscape. Subtle vibrations distort the reflections of visitors and the surrounding space. Faces, bodies and spatial boundaries appear fragmented and constantly shifting.
