A temporary exhibition and series of artistic interventions at Charlottenburg Palace, Berlin, on view from July to October 2023. Commissioned by the Prussian Palaces and Gardens Foundation Berlin-Brandenburg.
This exhibition explores the colonial entanglements of Prussia through the lens of its palaces, collections, and historical figures. It offers a critical examination of how colonialism influenced cultural heritage, shaped courtly life, and reinforced political power structures. Featuring original objects, multimedia installations, and contemporary artistic responses, PRUSSIAN PALACES. COLONIAL HISTORIES. invites visitors to engage with the legacies of colonialism and reflect on their relevance today.
